FK Bokelj's new stadium called for a design response to a constrained, heritage-sensitive site close to the Bay of Kotor, one where the building's presence needed to sit comfortably within its setting. Venue Architects' competition entry explored timber-led construction using long-span trusses to create a column-free timber-framed grandstand, envisioned as a fine piece of furniture. The roof is supported by bookend buildings housing club, VIP and commercial facilities. Finished in local Maljat limestone, the UEFA Category 2 compliant design offers a sustainable, low-carbon benchmark for small stadium architecture.
